Supported devices are the iPhone 7 and later and any iPad manufactured after 2017.
Scanning requires a lot of processing power, but you should not need more than 5% battery even with a larger property. It’s recommended that you keep your device charged to prevent a low battery warning from interrupting your scan.
We will add support for some Android devices during 2019. All important changes will be communicated through email and social media. Follow our facebook page for latest updates → facebook.com/cubicasaInc
An internet connection is necessary during the startup of the app, however, scanning can be done offline. The app works through wifi and cellular. We recommend high-speed internet when sending the scans for processing, but it’s not required.
The capturing process takes about 4-6 minutes for a 2,000 square foot space. Capturing time depends on the area and complexity of the indoor space.
Scanning time depends on indoor space and complexity. You should be able to capture one room fairly fast, in 15-20 seconds.
Keep the device at chest height, slightly tilted downwards and walk at a normal walking speed. No need to be extra slow or scan one place more than once.
No need to mark anything. Just walk and scan.
It is recommended that you start from the foyer and proceed forward from there.
After starting it is recommended to go from one room to another in a logical order – from the current room to the next closest one. Complete the scan of the floor you are on before moving to another floor.
Currently, there is no feedback on what has been scanned. Please plan your route beforehand so that rooms are not missed.
Sorry, there is no intermediate result available at the moment.
If you miss an area, it is recommended that you rescan the building again to ensure that the end result is complete.
You can walk up/down stairs normally.
Note: Be careful to look in front of you and not at the device screen while on the stairs!
It is recommended that you start from the lowest floor and scan your way up. Point the device at the stairs while climbing.
Interior space type does not matter for the scan.
No need to clean the house. If there are items blocking visibility to appliances or other items which are shown in the floor plan, it is recommended that you clear those spaces.
When you are planning the route for the scan, it is recommended that you open any doors that lead to areas where you will scan. You can open doors during scanning, but to ensure best results, they should be open beforehand.
There can be people and pets in the house.
Turn on all lights. Open doors to spaces where you want to scan.
Sunlight is not a problem. Curtains can be open.
Lights should be on.
If there is an area with low-light, do not enter that area.
Mirrors are ok to scan. No need to mark them.
If there is a garage not further than approx. 60 feet, you can walk there and scan the path as you go. If it is dark outside, scanning is not possible.
Current turnaround time is 1 business day. If you require faster turnaround time, please contact our sales team at email@example.com
Yes! Delivered floor plan images are available with and without room dimensions.
There is no total area in the floor plans. This is on the roadmap.
We detect and label rooms automatically from the scan. Our QA team confirms these predictions and corrects any errors.
Yes! If an area is scanned, it will be included in the floor plan.
Currently, we do not support 3D or BIM data export.
The process is automation-assisted and all data is processed without human interaction. We have a QA team that reviews the predicted data and approves the result.
We call it human-assisted automation. The automated part, which leverages state-of-the-art machine vision algorithms, creates the floor plans. Our QA team checks each one and makes any necessary adjustments.
Yes, we offer vector versions of all floor plans (SVG) that can be imported into external graphics editing tools. Our in-platform editing tool, Quick Edit, is currently in beta.
We include terraces but no other outdoor elements. However, the floor plans are available in SVG format, so adding them yourself should be a breeze if needed.
Current floor plans follow the IPMS Residential standards. (With the exception of area calculation).
At the current stage, a 3D showcase is not on our roadmap. For the floor plan, we create the geometry of the property only.
Currently, the error margin is around 5%, however, we are constantly working on improving this. Floor plans can include your brand elements such as wall color, floor color, and your logo.
We are working on accuracy improvements for our service. Unfortunately, we can’t give you an exact date when these will be available. Currently, our success rate for scanning is 99%.
